Kindness, Inclusion & Diversity (K.I.D)
Mission Statement
The Kindness, Inclusion and Diversity (KID) Committee comprises of faculty, staff and families working collaboratively to advocate, educate and support inclusiveness in our community. We encourage opportunities for students, staff, and faculty to grow in their own understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion. We actively promote equality of representation in the school and curriculum. We take a stand against discrimination, stereotyping, and prejudice. We offer opportunities and safety for all.

We always seek participants who are passionate about making GVCS a stronger community through KID. Join us for our monthly meetings, during the 2025-26 school year. The meeting place will be communicated on ParentSquare.

Value Statement
We believe in the equality of human dignity and the limitlessness of human potential.
As both individuals and groups, we are called to consider how we view the present, relate to the past, and will conduct ourselves in the future. This calling resulted in our work on the KID Resolution document the Board of Trustees passed in 2022; as well as our joint efforts with the GV Faculty and Staff on a Disavowal document that addresses areas of concern in our Waldorf history.

Inclusion
The practice or policy of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized.
Diversity
The practice of including and seeing people of any race, color, ancestry, origin, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, neuro diversity, physical characteristics, marital status, family status, age, ability, or any other personal or cultural characteristic.
