Overview

Golden Valley Educational Foundation (GVEF)

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Golden Valley Charter Schools

Our Mission: The Golden Valley Educational Foundation (GVEF) nourishes and strengthens the curriculum inspired by Waldorf education at Golden Valley Charter Schools (GVCS) by raising funds that directly supplement the GVCS budget.

How We Support GVCS: GVEF grants the funds we raise directly to the schools. The GVCS Board of Trustees determines how these funds are allocated to best support students and staff.

Thanks to generous contributions from families and the community, we help fund critical areas such as:

  • Facility Costs: Including rent paid to the San Juan Unified School District
  • Teacher Training: Supporting Waldorf certification and professional development
  • Specialty Programs: Music, fine arts, handwork, and games
  • Expanded Educational Offerings: Enriching the student experience across our TK–8 programs

Fundraising in Action

Our main fundraising programs include:

  • Eagle Chase Jog-a-Thon (October 29 & 30, 2026)
  • Spring Art Auction (March 13, 2027)
  • Fireworks Booth (June 28 -July 4th)
  • Annual Giving Campaign (in partnership with GVCS: July - June)

In the 2023–2024 school year:

  • The GVCS Annual Giving Campaign raised $139,000
  • Together with GVCS, we helped raise a total of $270,000 for our schools
