Overview

The Golden Valley Educational Foundation (GVEF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit created to raise money for Golden Valley Orchard and River Schools. Our mission is to nourish and strengthen the curriculum inspired by Waldorf education at GVCS by raising funds that directly supplement the GVCS budget. Net Spending / Net Fundraising Charts GVEF grants the money we raise directly to the schools—the GVCS Board of Trustees determines how the money is spent.

The kinds of things our fundraising supports include the rent we pay to San Juan Unified School district, teacher training for our teachers to become Waldorf certified, specialty programs like music, fine arts, handwork and games, and classroom supplies like paints, beeswax, main lesson books, yarns, etc. Our fundraising programs include the Eagle Chase jog-a-thon, Spring Art Auction and our AmazonSmile program. We help support the GVCS Annual Giving Campaign and in 2021-22, the GVCS Annual Giving Campaign raised $125,000. Every contribution helps support our vision in expanding access for children and families to a community of public Waldorf Schools.
