The Value of Celebrating Festivals for the Individual and for the Community with Stephen Spitalny
Why do we celebrate special moments in the cycle of the changing seasons? We will interact with one another and look at a range of ritual celebration and how to use ritual and festival life to enrich our lives and enhance connection on many levels.

About Stephen Spitalny
Writer, early childhood consultant and kindergarten teacher Stephen Spitalny offers insight into early childhood development and into various aspects of the young child. He has offered individual consulting, lectures and courses for parents and teachers around the world since the early 1990s.
Steve has taught at the Santa Cruz Waldorf School since 1990. He gave many courses at Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, California and for many years, and has been a faculty member at the Waldorf Institute of Southern California (WISC). He is a former board member of the Waldorf Early Child Association of North America (WECAN) and edited the WECAN newsletter Gateways for ten years.
Steve is the author of several books on creating true connection with young children. He has written numerous articles for various journals and magazines and book collections. His work has been translated into several languages and Steve regularly travels to China and other parts of SE Asia sharing his thoughts and experiences in kindergarten.
